Foot Plantar Pressure Scan: assessment at Foot & Arch centres and partner clinics
See exactly how you stand, balance and walk. A Foot & Arch foot plantar pressure scan maps the load under each foot in minutes, turning what would otherwise be judged by eye into clear, objective data.
What happens in a scan
The patient simply stands, then walks, across the pressure plate. The scan records:
- pressure distribution across the whole foot, from heel strike to toe-off
- centre-of-pressure path
- contact area and left/right balance
- foot arch-type classification
Results are shown as colour-coded heatmaps and a printable report, ready to discuss in the same appointment.
Who it helps
People with heel or forefoot pain, plantar fasciitis, flat feet, knee, hip or back pain linked to foot loading, runners and active adults, people who stand all day at work, and anyone wanting an objective check on how their feet load.
Treatment guided by the data
The scan guides footwear advice, rehabilitation and exercise. Where it shows an orthotic is genuinely needed, custom insoles can be made from the same scan. A repeat scan measures progress.
