HeadX launches Play, bringing interactive movement activities to HeadX Duo
HeadX Play turns movement measured by Duo into interactive on-screen activities.
HeadX Play turns movement into on-screen control, with live visual feedback and a big screen experience using a Windows PC connected to a monitor or TV.

HeadX Ltd has launched HeadX Play, a new addition to the HeadX Duo app that turns movement measured by the Duo device into on-screen control. Released in version 1.3.7, Play provides live visual feedback through four interactive activities and sits alongside the app's Assess functions.

The launch extends the ways clinicians and patients can use HeadX Duo for movement practice. Users can switch between Assess and Play from the app homepage, moving between assessment and interactive activities within the same app.

Four ways to practise movement

Trace lets users guide a marker around different paths and patterns, working on controlled, coordinated movement at their own pace.

Rhythm asks users to follow a moving guide through horizontal, vertical, diagonal or curved paths, with adjustable movement range and pace.

Hide & Seek challenges users to move their marker to capture targets as they appear around the screen during a timed session.

Tilt involves moving between a sequence of positions and briefly holding each target to complete the match.

Activities can be adjusted for the session, with options such as body area, movement range, pattern, pace and duration. Users can preview the movement before starting and enable optional audio cues.

Movement on a bigger screen

HeadX Play is designed for phones, tablets and Windows, with layouts adapted to each screen size. The Windows PC version of the HeadX Duo app can be connected to a large monitor or TV, giving users a larger view of the movement targets and live feedback throughout the activity.

Try HeadX Play at Therapy Show

Visitors to Therapy Show can meet HeadX at stand H61 to explore HeadX Duo, try Assess and Play, and discuss how the activities could fit their movement assessment and rehabilitation workflow.

HeadX Play is available in HeadX Duo version 1.3.7. Existing users can update the app through their usual app store. This is the first release of Play, and HeadX welcomes feedback on its use in practice and ideas for future development.
