Breakout session: from flare to care: tackling inflammatory back pain and autoimmune rehab
Rheumatology rehabilitation
This talk will cover simple, evidence-based principles and guidelines for identifying and managing inflammatory back pain and autoimmune conditions, with a strong focus on the role of rehabilitation at early, middle, and late stages.
The session will also include a focused contribution on foot health in the context of inflammatory disease—exploring the clinical significance of lower limb assessment, early podiatric intervention, and how foot-related challenges can impact mobility, pain, and quality of life in this patient group.

Topics will include:
• Core principles and clinical guidelines
• Importance of early identification and intervention
• Rehab benefits across the care continuum
• Foot health considerations in inflammatory disease
• Common challenges and practical solutions
This session includes two 40-minute workshops designed to help you explore what AHPs can do at primary, secondary, and community care levels to improve quality of life and outcomes for patients with rheumatological conditions.
